Which Samsung SCX-4021 driver should I choose?
Basic drivers are driver-only packages: the print driver is 24.8 MB and the scan driver is 17.5 MB. Choose these for everyday use. The XPS print driver, 33.4 MB, supports only Windows 7. Utilities add tools: Easy Printer Manager (28.7 MB) combines device settings and status monitoring, and Scan OCR (28.6 MB) saves scans as editable text. The Universal Print Driver (38.5 MB) is a generic driver for IT-managed setups. Most home users can skip it.
This model connects only by Hi-Speed USB 2.0. It has no wireless, no network port and no HP ePrint. Duplex printing is manual. Paper comes from a 250-sheet tray or a 1-sheet multi-purpose tray into a 50-sheet output bin.
How to install the Samsung SCX-4021 driver
- Download the Samsung SCX-4021S,4521HS/4521FS,4650,4655 Series Print Driver (24.8 MB) to your Windows PC.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Plug the printer into the PC with a USB cable. It has no wireless or network option.
- Print a test page from any app to confirm the driver works.
- Install the Scan Driver (17.5 MB) separately if you want to scan from the PC.

Samsung SCX-4021 driver troubleshooting
Windows does not detect the printer over USB
Try a different USB cable and another port on the PC. Avoid USB hubs. Restart the printer and the PC, then run the driver installer again.
Prints look faint or streaky
Check the toner level and the paper type. Remove the toner cartridge and rock it gently side to side to spread the toner. Replace the cartridge if prints stay faint.
Easy Printer Manager misbehaves on Windows 10
Install Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36, which fixed a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue. Download it (28.7 MB), then restart the PC before opening it.

Which Windows versions does the basic print driver support?
The basic print driver supports Windows 10 and Windows 7, both 64-bit and 32-bit. HP lists Windows 11 only for the Universal Print Driver and Easy Printer Manager.
Can I connect this printer over Wi-Fi?
No. The only standard connection is Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Wireless capability is No, network ready is None, and HP ePrint is No. Mobile printing is listed as Mobile Apps.
How big is the scan driver?
The Samsung SCX-4021S Series Scan Driver is 17.5 MB, version 3.21.65.03, dated Sep 01, 2017. HP lists it for Windows 10 and Windows 7.
Does it print on both sides of the page?
