Which Samsung SCX-4521 driver should I choose?
Basic drivers are driver-only packages. Pick the print driver to print and the scan driver (17.5 MB) to scan. The No Installer print driver (20.8 MB) needs a manual install through Add Printer. Utilities add extras: Easy Printer Manager (28.7 MB) for settings and status, Set IP (1.5 MB) for network addresses, and Scan OCR (28.6 MB) for editable text. The Universal Print Driver (38.5 MB) is a generic driver for IT-managed setups, and it is the only print option that lists Windows 11. Samsung lists no firmware here.
Samsung groups the SCX-4021S, 4521HS, 4521FS, 4650 and 4655 under one driver set. Check that your model name matches before you download. The print and scan drivers are separate downloads, so install both if you scan.
How to install the Samsung SCX-4521 driver
- Download the Samsung SCX-4021S,4521HS/4521FS,4650,4655 Series Print Driver (24.8 MB) from the Windows list.
- Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder and let it start.
- Follow the on-screen prompts until the installer finishes.
- Connect the printer as the installer asks, then print a test page.
- Repeat the process with the Series Scan Driver (17.5 MB) if you plan to scan.

Samsung SCX-4521 driver troubleshooting
Windows does not detect the printer
Turn the printer off and on, then restart the PC. Check that the cable or network link is firm. Reinstall the print driver if the printer still does not appear.
Prints look faint or streaky
Check the toner or supply level first. Remove the cartridge, reseat it firmly, and print another page. Replace the supply if the output stays poor.
Easy Printer Manager misbehaves on Windows 10
Install Samsung Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36 (28.7 MB). It fixes a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue. Network PC Fax Utility 2.02.35 carries the same fix.

The recommended print driver supports Windows 10 (64-bit and 32-bit) and Windows 7 (64-bit and 32-bit). For Windows 11, Samsung lists the Universal Print Driver, Set IP and Easy Printer Manager.

Do I need a separate driver to scan?
