Which Samsung ML-4510 / ML-4512 driver should I choose?

The Basic driver category holds the model-specific drivers: PCL6 (30.1 MB), PostScript (28.1 MB), XPS (29.7 MB, Windows 7 only) and a No Installer package (34.0 MB). Most people need PCL6. The Universal Print Driver (38.5 MB) is a generic driver for IT-managed setups, and it is the only driver here that lists Windows 11. Utilities handle settings, monitoring, IP setup and direct printing. Firmware (16.1 MB) is worth installing only to fix a specific problem, after you read the release note.

HP lists these drivers for the ML-451x and ML-501x series, so the same files cover related models. The Set IP utility sets a network address using the printer's MAC address. Easy Printer Manager combines device settings with status monitoring.

How to install the Samsung ML-4510 / ML-4512 driver

1. Download ML-451x, 501x Series Print Driver PCL6 (30.1 MB) from HP's download list.
2. Open the downloaded file and follow the installer prompts.
3. Connect the printer when the installer asks for it, or confirm it is already on your network.
4. If a network printer is not found, run Samsung Set IP (1.5 MB) to assign an address by MAC address.
5. Print a test page from any Windows program to confirm the driver works.

Confirm the printer is powered on and the cable is firmly seated. For a network connection, check the link and run Samsung Set IP to assign an address using the MAC address.

Prints look faint, streaky or uneven

Open Samsung Easy Printer Manager and check the status and supply levels. Replace or reseat the toner if it is low. Then print another test page to compare.

Samsung Easy Printer Manager has trouble on a newer Windows 10 build

Install Samsung Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36. HP states it fixed a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue. Download it from the Utility category and run the installer.

The ML-451x, 501x Series Print Driver PCL6 supports Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit). HP does not list Windows 11 for this specific driver.

Is there a driver for Windows 11?

HP lists Windows 11 for the Samsung Universal Print Driver (38.5 MB) and for the Set IP and Easy Printer Manager utilities. The model-specific drivers cover Windows 10 and 7 only.

How large is the recommended driver download?
