Which Samsung CLP-680 driver should I choose?

Basic drivers are made for the CLP-680 series. The standard installer is 60.7 MB and installs itself, while the No Installer version (45.5 MB) needs a manual install. Universal Print Driver downloads are generic drivers for IT-managed setups, ranging from 24.4 MB to 38.5 MB. Utilities handle setup and monitoring, such as Set IP at 1.5 MB. HP lists no problem that the 68.1 MB firmware fixes, so skip it.

Set IP assigns a network address using the printer's MAC address. Easy Wireless Setup, at 4.2 MB, configures wireless network settings. Easy Printer Manager combines device settings and status monitoring in one place.

How to install the Samsung CLP-680 driver

1. Confirm you run Windows 10 or Windows 7. The recommended driver lists no Windows 11 support.
2. Download the Post Script driver, 33.7 MB, from the HP page.
3. Run the downloaded file when the transfer finishes.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

Windows cannot find the printer after installing the driver

Restart the printer and the PC, then check the cable or network connection. On a network, try Samsung Set IP (1.5 MB), which sets the address using the printer's MAC address.

Prints look faded or streaky

Check that the supplies are installed correctly and are not empty. Replace any depleted item, then print another test page to compare the result.

Easy Printer Manager fails on Windows 10

Install Samsung Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36. HP states it fixed a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue, so older versions may not work after that update.

The Post Script driver lists Windows 10 (64-bit and 32-bit) and Windows 7 (64-bit and 32-bit). It does not list Windows 11.
