Which Samsung SL-M2836 driver should I choose?
HP offers three kinds of download for this printer. The Basic driver prints and nothing more: the installer version is 25.1 MB, and the No Installer version is 20.9 MB. Utilities add tools, such as Set IP (1.5 MB), Easy Printer Manager (28.7 MB) and Easy Wireless Setup (4.2 MB). The Universal Print Driver (38.5 MB) is a generic driver meant for IT-managed setups.
Duplex printing is automatic. Paper comes from a 250-sheet input tray or a 1-sheet multi-purpose tray, and the output bin holds 120 sheets. Wi-Fi is 802.11 b/g/n with WEP and WPA/WPA2 Personal security. The printer reads SPL, PCL5 and PCL6.
How to install the Samsung SL-M2836 driver
- Download the Samsung SL-M283x Series Print Driver(No Installer), 20.9 MB, to a folder you can find again.
- Connect the printer to your PC with a USB cable or to your network with an Ethernet cable.
- For Wi-Fi, run Samsung Easy Wireless Setup (4.2 MB) to configure the wireless network settings.
- Open the Add Printer feature in Windows, because this driver needs a manual installation.

Samsung SL-M2836 driver troubleshooting
Windows cannot find the printer on Wi-Fi
Confirm the router uses 802.11 b/g/n with WEP or WPA/WPA2 Personal. Then run Samsung Easy Wireless Setup again. Ethernet or USB works as a fallback while you sort out the wireless settings.
Pages come out faint, streaked or smudged
Load fresh paper of a supported type, such as plain. Reprint a test page afterward. If the marks stay, contact Samsung support about the printer's supplies instead of forcing more pages through.
Easy Printer Manager misbehaves on Windows 10
Install Samsung Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36 (28.7 MB). It fixed a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue. Remove any older copy first, then restart the PC.
