Which Samsung ML-3712 driver should I choose?

HP offers three download types here: Universal Print Driver, Utility and Firmware. The Universal Print Driver is a generic driver that suits IT-managed setups. The standard version is 38.5 MB and the PostScript version is 24.4 MB. Utilities handle setup and management: Set IP is 1.5 MB, Easy Wireless Setup 4.2 MB, Easy Printer Manager 28.7 MB. Firmware files run 11.2 MB and 11.4 MB, so update firmware only to fix a specific problem.

HP's firmware files name the ML-3710ND, 3712ND and 3710DW. For the ML-3712, the ML-3710ND/3712ND file (11.2 MB, version 2.xx.01.47) matches the name. HP recommends reading the Release Note file before installing any firmware.

How to install the Samsung ML-3712 driver

1. Download Samsung Universal Print Driver for Windows (38.5 MB, version 3.00.16.0101.01) from HP's page.
2. Confirm your PC runs Windows 11, Windows 10 or Windows 7.
3. Run the downloaded file and follow the installer's prompts.
4. Connect the printer in the way the installer asks.
5. Print a test page to confirm the driver works.
6. Add Samsung Easy Wireless Setup (4.2 MB) afterward if you need to configure wireless network settings.

Windows cannot find the printer on the network

Restart the printer and your PC first. Then try Samsung Set IP (1.5 MB), which sets the network IP address using the printer's MAC address. Reinstall the driver afterward if needed.

Printed pages look faint or streaky

Remove the toner or ink supply and reseat it firmly. Replace it if it is empty or worn. Print another test page, and try again after a restart.

Samsung Easy Printer Manager misbehaves on Windows 10

Install Samsung Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36 (28.7 MB). HP states it fixed a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue. Remove the older copy before you install it.
