How to install the Canon PIXMA G4010 driver
Canon’s own steps for the full driver package:
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded .exe file. It will be decompressed and the Setup screen will be displayed. Follow the instructions to install the software and perform the necessary settings.

Canon PIXMA G4010 driver troubleshooting
Windows or Mac does not detect the printer over USB
Plug the USB cable straight into the computer, not a hub. Turn the printer off and on, then try another port or cable. Run the installer again after the printer powers up. Restart the computer if it still fails.
The installer stops partway through
Close other programs and restart the computer. Pause your antivirus for the install, then run the installer as administrator. The Full Driver & Software Package installs online, so check that your internet connection is working.
The scanner does not appear after install
Install G4010 MP Drivers Ver.1.03, which covers scanning as well as printing. Restart the computer afterward. Then open IJ Scan Utility. On a Mac, check that the printer shows up in Image Capture.
