How to install the Canon PIXMA G2020 driver
Canon’s own steps for the full driver package:
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded EXE file to decompress it, then installation will start automatically.

Canon PIXMA G2020 driver troubleshooting
Windows does not detect the printer during setup.
Plug the USB cable straight into the PC, not a hub. Turn the printer on first. Try another cable or port. Run the installer again and connect the cable only when it asks.
The installer stops or shows an error partway through.
Restart the PC and close other programs. Right-click the installer and run it as administrator. If an older G2020 driver exists, remove it in Control Panel first, then install Ver.1.04 again.
Printing works but the scanner does not appear.
Install the full MP Driver. It covers printing and scanning, and a print-only setup leaves the scanner out. Restart the PC after setup, then check Device Manager for the scanner entry.

Pick the G2020/G2060 series MP Driver Ver.1.04 (Windows). It is 84.54 MB, dated 04 Aug 2026. Canon says it provides full printing and scanning functions for the printer.
Which Windows versions does the driver cover?
Ver.1.04 covers Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7, including x64 editions. It also covers Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025. Server 2008 R2 through 2019 are x64 only.
Is there a macOS driver on this page?
