Which Samsung SCX-3206 driver should I choose?

HP offers three kinds of downloads for this printer. The Basic drivers are the model-specific print and scan drivers, and both cover Windows 7 only. The Universal Print Driver (38.5 MB) is a generic driver, best for IT-managed setups. Utilities add features such as Set IP (1.5 MB), Easy Wireless Setup (4.2 MB) and Easy Printer Manager (28.7 MB). Choose a utility only if you need its function.

HP lists the SCX-3200 Series drivers for this model, so check your Windows version before you download. The two Basic drivers support Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit. Smart Panel (7.9 MB) also covers Windows 7 only.

How to install the Samsung SCX-3206 driver

1. Confirm you run Windows 7, 32-bit or 64-bit, because both Basic drivers support only that version.
2. Download the SCX-3200 Series Scan Driver (45.9 MB) from the HP page into a new folder.
3. Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen prompts.
4. Repeat the process for the SCX-3200 Series Print Driver (18.6 MB).
5. Restart the PC if the installer asks for it, then try a test page.

Windows does not detect the printer

Check that the cable or network connection is firm and the printer is on. Restart both the printer and the PC. For a network printer, Samsung Set IP can assign an IP address using the MAC address.

Pages print faint, streaked or blank

Confirm the supplies are installed correctly, and swap in a new one if the current supply is used up. Then print another test page to see whether the problem is gone.

Samsung software fails on Windows 10

Install Samsung Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36. Samsung fixed a Windows10 RS4 compatibility issue in that release. Download it from the HP page and run the installer again.

It supports Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit. HP lists no Basic driver for Windows 10 or 11 for this printer.

How large is the recommended scan driver?

The SCX-3200 Series Scan Driver is 45.9 MB, version 3.20.81.07. HP dates it Sep 01, 2017.

What does Samsung Set IP do?

Set IP sets the network IP address using the MAC address, which is the hardware serial number of the network printer. It supports Windows 7, 10 and 11.

Does Network PC fax work on Windows 11?

HP lists Samsung Network PC fax Utility 2.02.35 for Windows 10 and Windows 7 only. HP does not offer a Windows 11 version of it.
