Which Samsung SCX-8030 driver should I choose?

The Basic driver category holds driver-only packages: a print driver at 15.7 MB and a scan driver at 28.1 MB. Choose these for everyday printing and scanning. Universal Print Driver downloads are generic drivers for IT-managed setups, and they include Windows 11 support. Utility downloads add Easy Printer Manager, Network PC Fax and Scan OCR. HP also offers firmware, but it lists no problem the firmware fixes, so leave it alone.

The print driver covers the Samsung SCX-8025, 8030 and 8040 series. The firmware package covers the SCX-8030, 8038, 8040 and 8048. Network PC Fax works with Samsung multifunction printers supplied with fax.

Windows does not detect the printer

Restart the printer and the PC. Check that the cable or network link is secure, then run the installer again.

Printouts look faint or streaky

Check the supplies first and replace any that are used up. Run a test page afterward. Contact Samsung support if the problem stays.

Easy Printer Manager misbehaves on Windows 10

Install Easy Printer Manager version 2.00.01.36. Samsung fixed a Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue in that release.

Which Windows versions does the print driver support?

The print driver supports Windows 10 and Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit. HP does not list Windows 11 for it. The Universal Print Driver does list Windows 11.

How big is the firmware file?

The firmware file is 268.4 MB, version 5.N6.30.TSCOMMON.26, dated Sep 01, 2017. The release note is 0.1 MB. HP recommends reading the note before installing.

Is there a separate scan driver?

Yes. The Samsung SCX-8025, 8030, 8040 Series Scan Driver is version 3.21.09.16 and 28.1 MB. It supports Windows 10 and Windows 7.

What does Easy Printer Manager do?

It combines device settings configuration and status monitoring in one place. The download is version 2.00.01.36 and 28.7 MB, and it supports Windows 11, 10 and 7.
