HP DeskJet 2300 All-in-One series driver troubleshooting
The computer does not detect the printer over USB.
Try a different USB cable and port. Plug directly into the computer, not through a hub. Restart both the printer and the computer, then run the installer again.
Printouts look faded or streaky.
Replace any empty cartridge with a genuine HP cartridge sold for your region. Load plain, photo or brochure paper, the media types HP lists. Reprint the page afterward.
Print jobs stay stuck in the queue.
Open the print queue and cancel the stuck jobs. Confirm the printer is selected as the default. Reconnect the USB cable, then print again.

HP lists Windows 11, Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit for the full driver, version 51.3.4843. The HP Easy Start setup app supports Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit, with a separate Win 7 64-bit build.
Can I print wirelessly with this printer?
No. HP lists wireless capability as No and mobile printing as not supported. The only connection is 1 Hi-Speed USB 2.0, so you need a USB cable to a computer.
